All those attending weekends away must do so through official group channels by either contacting the organiser for that particular weekend or, in their absence, the Committee Weekends Officer.

Historical Weekends



17th - 19th August 2018: Kilnsey


Kate Atty and Angela Robinson


A weekend based in Kilnsey which is surrounded by the beautiful limestone scenery of the Upper Wharfedale area of the Yorkshire Dales. Walks will be offered on both days and there are lots of possibilities for walking nearby - Kilnsley Crag and Grassington are within walking distance of the accommodation and Malham is a short drive away. 

We’ll be staying at Skirfare Barn which is set in its own one acre grounds complete with outdoor BBQing area:

The cost includes a meal on Friday night as well as two breakfasts and two lunches. On Saturday evening we’ll eat at the local pub.

2nd - 4th November 2018: Elterwater

A weekend at Elterwater Hostel in the heart of the Langdale Valley in the Lake District. 

Walks will be offered on both days.

The cost includes 2 evening meals, 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts.  The evening meal on the Saturday will be 2 courses provided by the hostel.





Bookings open at the Knott Bar Social on Wednesday 4th July at 20:00.  Half of the total places will be available on a first come first served basis.  The remaining places will be available from 19:00 on Thursday 5th July by emailing Stephen at




£68 including the 2 course meal provided by the hostel on the Saturday evening
