You can find details of forthcoming weekends here, but make sure that you read the information here before booking.

All those attending weekends away must do so through official group channels by either contacting the organiser for that particular weekend or, in their absence, the Committee Weekends Officer.

2016 Weekends

5th - 7th February 2016: Cromford Weekend

Details:

A midwinter weekend at the southern end of the Peak District. We will be staying in the Cromford Wharf Shed bunkhouse in the middle of a UNESCO world heritage site at the start of the High Peak Trail, within easy reach of Matlock and the southern Derbyshire Dales.

An evening meal will be provided on the Friday evening and breakfast and lunch will be provided for Saturday and Sunday, we will be going out to a local pub for the meal on Saturday night.

For walks there will be a longer walk out along the High Peak Trail on Saturday followed by a shorter walk taking in Matlock Bath and Crich Tramway Village on Sunday.

24th - 28th March 2016: Easter North West Scotland weekend

Details:

Easter weekend in one of the most remote towns in Scotland. Overlooking the sea the 'Lazy Crofter' hostel has a good standard of facilities and is a short distance away from an impressive range of sites of interest including Sandwood Bay, The Quinag mountain and Faraid Headland.

24th - 26th June 2016: YHA Dufton

Details:

YHA Dufton is a great base for outdoor activity breaks exploring the wild moorland and green valleys. This accommodation in Cumbria is the perfect opportunity to stay in Europe’s first Geopark, an area of great geological interest. YHA Dufton faces the pretty village green near to the Pennine WayOn the Saturday we will climb Great Dun Fell, a walk of 11 miles and 725m of ascent (and weather permitting there is the additional option of Cross Fell which is 4 extra miles). On Sunday we will do the 8 mile walk to High Cup Nick before heading home.

£40 (two breakfasts and food for two packed lunches included). No evening meal provided on the Friday. On Saturday evening we will eating at the Stag Inn, which will cost £10-£15 depending on your menu choice.


23rd - 25th September 2016: YHA Dalby Forest – North Yorkshire Moors

Details:

Dalby Forest is situated in the North Yorkshire Moors national park, close to the market town of Pickering, and not far from the village of Goathland, or Aidensfield, as fans of Heartbeat will know it. There will also be the option of a Thursday night stay in a B&B in the seaside town of Whitby, for those wishing to extend the trip.

14th - 16th October 2016: Mid Wales Weekend

Details:

A weekend in the hills of Mid Wales staying near the town of Rhayader. The surrounding area is varied with a mixture of rolling hills, forest and moorland with a disproportionately high number of reservoirs nearby.

29th December 2016 - 2nd January 2017: New Year Weekend

Details:

New Year weekend on the other side of the Channel. Situated in the small village Avesnes we have exclusive use of an old farmhouse with a wide range of facilities. There are an excellent range of walks with differing terrain nearby including the Aa Valley, Cap Gris Nez and the Forest of Guines. We plan to car share on this weekend.
