Direct Transport based walk with Andy Buckley.
It is time for the annual weekend visit to The Lake District, were you can just turn up for one days walk or for the whole weekend, all you need to do is sort out your own transportation and accommodation. This year we will be based around Keswick and the Saturday walk will be a drive to Seathwaite to go up Scafell Pike (the highest mountain in England). This is part of a 3 peak challenge to complete the 3 peaks of the UK in a more leisurely time scale of a calendar year. More details to follow on this walk and the other 2 peaks.
The walk starts from the village of Seathwaite and follows the valley alongside Grain Gill to Stockley Bridge before heading West and in between Great Gable and Seathwaite Fell to Sty Head and then we follow the corridor route for the remaining climb to Scafell Pike with the final section being the steepest.
Our descent will be via Allan Crags and Glaramara before rejoing the path we started out on.
For those keeping count, this will contain three Wainwrights.
