Public Transport based walk with Phil Barnes.
A circular walk from Grindleford railway station taking us alongside the River Derwent, then over hills and through woodland and eventually over Sir William Hill to Eyam for a visit to the pub or one of the tea rooms before returning to Grindleford along the Derwent Valley Heritage Trail.
Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport
We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

09:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:45. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
An off-peak day return £10.20, but the cheapest option is a Wayfarer at £10, which could also be used to get into town!
09:45: Train departs for the walk start at Grindleford Station.
10:46: Walk starts at Grindleford Station.
Return from Grindleford Station. 16:29, 17:29, 18:28, 19:29 (no changes) 16:46, 17:44, 18:46 (change at Sheffield)

There will be the chance for a quick pub stop in Eyam sometime in the afternoon about two thirds of the way through the walk and there is a cafe at Grindleford railway station for the opportunity to stock up on refreshments.
