Public Transport based walk with Gavin.
By way of contrast with the longer walks on offer this weekend, here's a linear walk heading into the hills north of Bolton. This does mean an overall climb but I don't think you'll feel it. Immerse yourself in a bit of countryside not often visited by the group. There's even a pub at the end which will make you glad you sought out a dog. A lunch stop is not planned so please eat on the train.
Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport
We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.
12:03: Meet at Manchester Victoria for the train at 12:03. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
We take a train to Bromley Cross and then on our return, a bus from Belmont into Bolton(normally £2.50) and a train into Manchester. Hence for travelling from Manchester, buy a System One Bus & Train £6.70, which also covers you for coming into town by bus or train.
Have a TwoTogether card? Get a Manchester-Bromley Cross at £5.80 + Belmont-Bolton bus at £2.50 each, which equals £10.80 or £5.40 each.
