Although hopefully not coming out the sky as on the recce... A very pleasant and untaxing walk for a Bank Holiday, following the River Dee out of Chester and then returning up the canal with a few fields and woods to visit en route. Hopefully the spirng flowers will be out and maybe a few ducklings to aah at....

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

08:45: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 08:50. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return to Chester £12.70

08:50: Train departs for the walk start at Chester Train Station.

09:55: Walk starts at Chester Train Station.

Return from Chester Train Station. frequent aiming for 17:22

Waypoints: River Dee; Tarvin; Shropshire Canal

Extra note:

If it's been soggy in recent days the ground is likely to be muddy in places, so come equipped.

Lots of car parking in Chester if you want to drive: meet up at the station.
