Robin Hood was 'ere

Public Transport based walk suitable for new walkers, with Steve Rawlins.

9.0 mi

Apparantly a man in green tights and a bow and arrow used to hide out around here?!

A nice little loop around the Hathersage area, heading out of the village and up onto the beautiful Stanage Edge, walking along the tops until we stop for lunch around the Trig point of High Neb. We'll then double back on oursleves for a short while before taking a different route back towards Hathersage, passing 'Robin Hood's Cave' on the way and stopping in the Scotsman pub shortly before Hathersage itself. A quick stop to see 'Little john's Grave' and then we'll make our way over to the station with the option of the lovely Plough Inn for those in no rush to head back.

The walk is on good clean paths with no really muddy spots but it can be a tad windy and uneven on the tops.

If you're thinking of coming to the Plough Inn (recommend the food) you may wish to bring a torch for the walk back to the station as there are no street lights.
