Starting at Congleton the route follows the Macclesfield Canal out of Congleton, leaving the cnal to walk through the fields to Astbury and back onto the cnal to Acker's Crossing to ascend the hillside to Mow Cop and along Congleton Edge and descend down to the Gritstone Trail to reach the canal for the last time to reach Congleton again

09:10: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:27. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return to Stoke on Trent £15.30

Change at Stoke on Trent for 10:24 to Congleton.

09:27: Train departs for the walk start at Congleton Station.

10:40: Walk starts at Congleton Station.

Return from Congleton Station. 16:15
