A walk out of Macclesfield to Tegg's Nose, past the smallest library in Cheshire towards Gawsworth Hall, a slightly macabre interlude at the grave of Maggoty Johnson and then back through Danes Moss and along the Canal back into Macclesfield.

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

09:00: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:27. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return to Macclesfield £9.10, train also calls at Stockport at 09:35 - Stockport to Macc Return is £6.70

09:27: Train departs for the walk start at Macclesfield Station.

10:00: Walk starts at Macclesfield Station.

Return from Macclesfield Station. 16:42, 17:15, 17:42, 18:15, 18:42

Waypoints: Tegg's Nose, Langley, Sutton Lane Ends, Sutton Reservoir, Mount Farm, Gawsworth Hall, Danes Moss, Macclesfield Canal.


Toilets at Walk Start, on Macclesfield Station, as is ample car parking should you wish to drive. Dogs not recommended due to having to traverse many fields containing livestock.
