Walk Leader meeting group at Walk Start (Hebden Bridge)

Taking full advantage of the long June days this is part 1 of a 2 part walk that explores the valleys and moors east of Hebden. Get up early for part 1 and enjoy the rest of the day in the pub; give yourself a lie in and join the second half or take the challenge and do both parts (27.5 miles and 1800 metres of ascent!)

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

07:30: Meet at Manchester Victoria for the train at 07:48. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return to Mythrolmroyd £10 or if doing both parts return to Hebden Bridge (£9.50).

07:48: Train departs for the walk start at Hebden Bridge Station.

08:25: Walk starts at Hebden Bridge Station.

Return from Mytholmroyd Station. frequent aiming for 14:14

Waypoints: Sheepstones; Rocking Stones; Ogden Reservoir; Bearsley Wood; Mytholmroyd

Extra Note:

Lots of short sharp ascents and descents with the exception of the first ascent which is quite long. Expect a brisk pace as we need to finish in time for part 2.  Likely to be soggy in places.

Please also note that there are a lot of stinging nettles on the route so shorts not advised.
