Public Transport based walk with Andrew Forbes.
Walk leader to meet at Whaley Bridge Station. The walk may be a couple of minutes late in starting if the first walk arrives into Whaley Bridge slightly later than planned. Please wait at the train station until I arrive.
This is the second part of the two part walk and takes in Windgather Rocks, Cats Tor, Shining Tor and a lesser used view of Errwood reservoir on the way back to Buxton. We will have a combination of open fields, woodland, pretty riverside paths, moorland and ridge views. The ascent is a mixture of short & steep sections and more gradual but longer climbs. Paths were good throughout on the reccy but a large section of the walk will be open to the elements so please bring appopriate clothing in case the weather isn't too friendly. We will have a few short stops for food/drink and there are plenty of nice pubs in Buxton for a well deserved drink afterwards.
