The Waterways and Woods of Hebden

A chance to enjoy the spring colours with this circular route from Hebden Bridge We begin by folowing the Rochdale canal along to Charlestown before turning up through the lovely Hippins Clough with its bluebells and waterfalls. At Hippins we turn onto the Calderway over to Jack Bridge where we join the Pennine Way. The way takes us onto the open moorland of Green Hill before we drop backdown into the woods of Hebden Dale and follow the river back down into Hebden Bridge and pub.

Please note there are some steep sections and muddy bits so proper footwear is essential.

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

10:00: Meet at Manchester Victoria for the train at 10:15. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Off peak Return to Hebden Bridge £9.50

10:15: Train departs for the walk start at Hebden Bridge Station.

10:50: Walk starts at Hebden Bridge Station.

Return from Hebden Bridge Station. 16:42, 17:42, 18:42, 19:43, 20:42, 22:46

Extra's::

There are toilet facilities at Hebden Bridge Station but they are limited so please use the ones on the train if possible.
