Direct Transport based walk with Andy Buckley.
Our regular June visit to Ambleside in The Lake District
Really I am the wrong person to be leading this walk, for those in the know look at the way points, but here goes and all wil be explained on the day.....
This walk starts from the village of Grasmere and heads up to Helm Crag before following the ridge over Gibson Knott and Calf Crag before turning back on ourselves and heading over towards Steel Fell with spectacular views over Thirlmere. We then start a steep descent back into the valley before joining country lanes for the final section of our walk back into Grasmere where there is a choice of pubs and tea shops.
For those interested there are four Wainrights on this walk Helm Crag, Knott Gibson, Calf Crag and Steel Fell.
