Ben Nevis

Direct Transport based walk with Andy Buckley and John Ireland.

9.5 mi

1311m

Please note amended date

This walk starts from the West side of the River Nevis, with a quick river crossing....via a bridge of course we then follow the river bank for a short distance before crossing a pasture and start our climb up the tourist path to the summit of the UK's highest mountain. The walk is a continuous climb throughout to the summit but a sensible pace will be kept throughout. On the return to the foot of the mountain we will be visiting the Ben Nevis Inn to reminisce and have a pint to the acheivement of the day.

Please note, to get to the walk start there are two options:

1. Drive your own car to the pay and display car park.

2. Taxi share from Fort William for the 1.5 mile trip to the walk start. Car drivers may also be interested in this option due to the pub at the end. If you are interested in this option please e-mail me at the e-mail address below to let me know so i have a rough idea on numbers for taxis and also for further information on this option. Please put "Ben Nevis" in the subject bar.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EVEN AT THIS TIME OF YEAR THERE COULD BE SNOW AT THE TOP OF BEN NEVIS SO PLEASE BRING FULL WINTER GEAR FOR THIS WALK.
