Public Transport based walk with Sarah Peppiatt.
A walk of contrasts as the streams and woods of the first part give way to the sharp gritsone ridges before the walk finishes over rolling open moorland. Expect lots of ascent, some very wet rough paths and some off path.

This is a long walk with a lot of ascent and no bailouts (unless you can navigate yourself to an alternative finish) and you must be able to do the whole distance at a reasonable pace.
You will need fluid and food for the whole day. Much of the walk is very exposed so you will need appropriate gear. You shouuld have waterproofs on you whatever the forecast. Gaiters etc may be useful: walking boots essential.
