A long roundabout way of walking between two stations that aren't actually that far from each other!

Going up Hackingknife, down to Botham Hall and then up again via Robin Hood's Picking Rods along Cown Edge till we head back to Broadbottom.

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

10:00: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 10:18. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return to Broadbottom £3.90 or Greater Manchester Rail Ranger £5.20 if travelling in from elsewhere

10:18: Train departs for the walk start at Godley Station.

10:50: Walk starts at Godley Station.

Return from Broadbottom Station. 17:15, 17:45 and then xx:15 and xx:45 until 20:45, hourly thereafter

Waypoints: Hackingknife, Botham Hall, Robin Hood's Picking Rods, Cown Edge, Coombes Edge, Charlesworth, Broadbottom.

Extra:

Post-walk refreshments at the Harewood Arms, Broadbottom.

If driving, please drive to Broadbottom station (SK14 6AX) and get the 10:45 to Godley (£1.60), arriving at 10:50. The walk will depart once this train has arrived.

No station car park or Toilets are available at Godley, use the toilet on the train.
