Public Transport based walk with steve rawlins.
A nice long walk that covers all 5 reservoirs along the Longdendale Trail/Woodhead Pass.
The total ascent is a little misleading as the walk is very steady will very little hills, this walk is ideal for those wishing to just push their distance a little bit further or perfect as a warm up for some of the longer challenge walks.
Starting from Hadfield station, we'll make our way down to Bottoms Reservoir and then in turn the Valehouse, Rhodeswood, Torside & Finally the Woodhead reservoirs.
We'll stop for lunch at a pretty little stream near the old abandoned railway tunnel and then double back on ourselves crossing over to the opposite side and heading back to Hadfield.
There is a small snackshop at Crowdon for ice-cream/tea & coffee - roughly two-thirds into the walk and toilet facilities at the start, Torside Reservoir and Crowdon.
We'll be stopping at the Bull's Head in Tintwistle on the way back which is about a mile from Hadfield Station but it's very easy to navigate straight back to Hadfield should you not wish to endulge.
The route is pretty much all on good steady paths but we will need to keep a reasonable steady pace due to the distance.
