A Tale of Two Adlingtons: Saddle of Kerridge

Public Transport based walk with Andy Buckley.

10.5 mi

387m

My nod to the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens…(loosely in name only!) . We start our walk from Adlington railway station (Cheshire) and head through the fields before meeting the Middlewood Way for a short distance before joining the Macclesfield Canal until we reach Bollington where we start our climb up to White Nancy and follow the Saddle of Kerridge over to the trig point, were if the weather is good there is spectacular views over Cheshire. We then head down towards Kerridge-end and follow a lane to join up with the Gritstone Trail up to Tegg’s Nose Country Park before our final descent into Macclesfield, where hopefully we can have a pint or two.
