Public Transport based walk with Becky Lea.
Walk leader to meet group at Disley train station.
The Gritstone trail is a long distance path usually split into 3 day-long stages. Day 1 covers the wild but beautiful hills and valleys between Disley and Macclesfield. The walk ends in the village of Langley, where we will have a pub stop and then can get the bus back to Macclesfield. There is the option to have a pub stop in Macclesfield too.
The last bus from Langley to Macclesfield is 17:22. Alternatively taxis are usually a reasonable price if shared. Pubs available in Langley or Macclesfield after the walk depending on the time available.
Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport
We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

08:35: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 08:50. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
Wayfarer. This will cover the bus and train tickets for the day
08:50: Train departs for the walk start at Disley Station.
09:30: Walk starts at Disley Station.
Return from Macclesfield Station. 17:41, 18:12, 18:21, 18:41. 3 times per hour until 23:39
Waypoints: Disley, Lyme Park, Sponds Hill, Kerridge Ridge, Teggs Nose, Langley. Buses from Langley to Macclesfield are 22 minutes past every hour.
