Public Transport based walk with Sarah Peppiatt.
A nice hard(ish) and very varied walk to burn off those Christmas excesses, starting with an easy stretch down the River Derwent before visiting some limestone dales and finishing over open moorland.

Likely to be very muddy unless it stays frozen. Gaiters/waterproof trousers reccommended, especially if you want to be allowed in the pub later!
No easy bailouts so you need to be able to walk whole distance at a reasonable pace (it gets dark before 4pm remember!!).
Parts of the walk are very exposed so you must have proper waterproofs/boots etc.
