Public Transport based walk with Andrew Forbes.
The first half involves a short walk through Greenfields Village then a series of paths, bridleways and very short sections of road that take us up to open moorland. There are a couple of short steep sections so we'll stop for a breather once we reach the Obelisk and Pots & Pans. Some of the paths were wet and uneven when reccied so good quality walking boots will be necessary. There is little shelter from the elements up there as well so warm layers will be necessary if the day is windy and/or wet.
We'll stop for lunch at the view point at Alderman's Hill that overlooks the Dove Stones, Yoeman and Greenfield reservoirs. The descent down from Alderman's hill is a little tricky so care is needed.
Toilets are available as we head down to an easy level walk around the Yoeman and Dove Stone reservoirs before heading back into Greenfield. There is a bail out point when we reach the reservoir for anyone that wishes to leave early and another set of toilets are available in the car park at Dove Stones reservoir.
We'll stop off at the Wellington Inn once we get back to Greenfield then onto the train.
