Public Transport based walk suitable for new walkers, with Niall MacLennan.
Short pre-Christmas party amble to Disley Village and Lyme Park where they Ring the Bells for the season that is in it. We'll be Waltzing Along well tracked paths and there will be a slight ascent out of Lyme Park and some road walking before returning to the park via woodland paths. We may even spot a deer or Seven, but dont worry if you feel they are Out To Get You, they're pretty Sound and are unlikely to Lose Control.
There's no need to Say Something to attend, just show up at the meet point in Piccadilly. Walk will begin at Disley train station where there is ample Laid out car parking for any drivers, so no risk that you will Runaground.
At the walk's end there may be time for a drink in the popular Dandy Cock in Disley. The landlady; She's a Star and welcomes even muddied walkers. Alternatively you may feel the internal shout of Come Home and Destiny Calling before the Xmas Party and wish to go and get cleaned up, trains are hourly back to Manchester Piccadilly.
So don't have a weekend Born Of Frustration, don't put off a bit of activity and socialising until Tomorrow, don't Sit Down, come and join us. Even though the paths are quite well defined it's a December walk so expect cool temperatures, mud and rain (maybe even snow) so dress accordingly.
Sometimes when you read back your walk narrative it dawns on you just what an influence music on reccie walks can be, so don't be shocked at the end if I ask "How Was It For You?"
