Car based walk with Steve Rawlins.
**Part of our ten year/ten marathons set**
The classic and popular Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge starting and ending in Horton-In-Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire Dales. The Three peaks (in route order) are Pen-Y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) & Ingleborough (723m).
The 'challenge' is to complete the route within 12 hours but this will be dependant on the group. Although a popular challenge due to the length and total ascent this does require a good level of fitness and a reasonable pace. There are a couple of bail out points and toilets/small cafe before the final ascent.
There are several B&B's and a campsite near the start/end should you wish to use these due to the early start...and possibly to make the most of the pub facilities after the walk (you'll need and deserve a pint...or 10!!) but this will also be a car based walk- further details to be added later although we'd be looking to leave Manchester no later than 5.30am. If you need any further info about travel or accommodation feel free to email me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Although in the middle of summer, please ensure you are prepared for cold and wet conditions...just incase!
