Pen-y-ghent circular (a joint walk with the Get Your Boots On group from Yorkshire)

Direct Transport based walk with Andrew Forbes.

10.4 mi

519m

This is the first of three walks incorporating elements of the Yorkshire 3 peaks; handy if you want to push yourself with an achievable distance but with a bit of the steep stuff thrown in.  The walk out of Horton in Ribblesdale has a gentle start but soon becomes steeper however this is the only prolonged ascent on the whole route.  There are short potentially muddy sections throughout the route but most of the walk uses bridleways (although they contain loose rocks in places so sturdy footwear is recommended).

Meet & Travel arrangements - Direct

Extra Info:

No meet up point first so booking on is essential so I know how many people to expect.  Email me on adrw_frbs@hotmail.com  I'll try to arrange pickups for people that don't have their own transport but please give me a bit of warning.    Public toilets are available at the start/end point.  There will be a pub stop at the end of the walk for those people that fancy a 'wee 'rest' before heading home again.
