For the people who wish to travel by Train we will pass through Greenfield and up to Dovestones Reservoir to meet up with the Car drivers and the Leeds group. Starting from the car park at Dovestones will we get all of the assent done in the first stretch up to Chew Reservoir, at which point  we will follow some unmarked paths on a ridge walk joining the Dovestones, Fox Stone and the amazing Dean Rocks. We will make our ascent and finish with a nice stroll of the the reservoir itself.

 

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

09:00: Meet at Manchester Victoria for the train at 09:27. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Off Peak Day Return £4.20

09:27: Train departs for the walk start at Greenfield Station.

09:51: Walk starts at Greenfield Station.

Return from Greenfield Station. 15:511, 16:51, 17:51

2nd Stage:

The offical walk for both groups will start from Dove Stones Reservoir Car Park at 10.30am. We will wait for the Train Group to arrive before setting off.

The walk from the Car Park will be 7.5 Miles and 480 meters of ascent.
