Secret Valley - Forest of Bowland (part 2)

Car based walk with Al.

11.0 mi

Please note; Lay-bys don't reliably receive post! The nearest postcode is for St Huberts RC church in Dunsop, BB7 3BG.  But then travel on towards the Trough of Bowland for about 1.5 miles (past the mountain rescue centre). The layby is on the LHS.

Excellent 11 mile walk / 450m ascent. There is an initial steep ascent up to Totridge. We then travel along the onto moors on top. We then find the secret valley and descend with Bleasdale Water towards Langden Brook. We then cross the brook and follow its passage back to the start at Skyes Nab.

Please note: We have to cross Langden Brook, this is 2 miles from the end. Whilst this will probably be just 6 inches deep; we must cross it. There is no 'plan b', there will not be time in daylight to go back. So, even if its a bit deeper, we will still have to cross it!

Toilets are in Dunsop Bridge village car park (prior to walk start).

The nice pub at end is likely to be the Parkers Arms, Newton-in-Bowland, BB7 3DY
