A shrine to the Goyt

Public Transport based walk with Stu Edwards.

7.0 mi

200m

Basing ourselves in the High Peak Spa town of Buxton for the day, this first walk explores the stunning countryside to the West of Buxton. We meander through the towns quaint streets as we make towards Nithen End and begin our climb to Watford Moor. Upon reaching the summit of the walk you are greeted with the excellent views of the Goyt Valley and Fernilee and Errwood Reservoirs. For our descent, we pick up the unusual path of the disused railway line over Wild Moor and dropping back via the golf course into Buxton. From here, you can either make your way to the station or join us at the pub ready for Part II - Solomon's Under the Stars walk.
