Public Transport based walk with John Ireland.
A shorter walk with a reasonable hill in it to build up one's appetite, before descending back into the valley, calling for refreshments at Diggle and then heading back into Greenfield to wait at the pub for the train home.
Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport
We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

10:30: Meet at Manchester Victoria for the train at 10:43. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
Return to Greenfield £4.10
10:43: Train departs for the walk start at Greenfield Station.
11:10: Walk starts at Greenfield Station.
Return from Greenfield Station. 16:58, 17:58
Waypoints: Fur Lane, War Memorial, Kinder Stones, Shaw Rocks, Slades Rocks, Running Hill Gate (Church Inn), Holly Grove, Diggle (Diggle Hotel), Huddersfield Narrow Canal, Tame Valley Way, Greenfield (Railway Inn
No toilets at Greenfield Station, so use the ones on the train first.
We will also be visiting the pubs in Running Hill Gate (Church Inn), Diggle (Diggle Hotel) and the Railway Inn in Greenfield whilst we wait for the train home. Optional stop at Stalybridge for the Buffet Bar if enough are interested.
If the weather is really diabolical we will take a lower route.
