Direct Transport based walk with Sarah Peppiatt.
Looking for a challenge to get your teeth into for 2013? Missed out last year? Daft enough to do it two years in a row? Get the date in the diary now: a 30 mile circular route visiting the 6 main high points around the Derwent reservoirs - hopefully in glorious June sunshine (just like last year...)
Meet & Travel arrangements - Direct
This is a walk with direct transport arrangements, meeting at the walk start.
07:20: Meet at the walk start (Cutthroat Bridge Car Park)
07:30 Walk starts.
Waypoints: Bamford Moor; Win Hill; Alport Castles; Slippery Stones; Shepherd Stones; Outer Hill; Margery Hill; Derwent Reservoir; Back Tor; Derwent Edge
This is a hard walk!!! Please don't just turn up for this unless you've done at least one of the long walks on the calendar beforehand (and preferably some training on your own).
Although the walk circles the reservoirs so in an emergency we can cut down, the intention is to stay up on the hills all day, so you will need to have food and water for around 13 or 14 hours, (at least 2 litres of water - much more if it's hot) plus full waterproofs and warm layers (and be able to carry it over the distance!)
NB: the leader is intending to stay in Hathersage on Friday night and probably Saturday too (hence the direct start). If you're interested in doing the same contact the walk leader via Facebook and I'll pass details of where I'm staying on.
If you're intending to come over on the Saturday please contact the walk leader via Facebook so we know to wait for you (and if possible leave a contact number)
