Public Transport based walk suitable for new walkers, with Katherine Hamlett & Stu Edwards.
A short trip on the train brings us to New Mills in the Peak District. Here, we meet the River Goyt and wander the beckoning paths and tracks along the valley floor. This gentle, circular route takes us past weirs and along the Mid Shires Way before returning back to New Mills...and a visit to a country pub. Perhaps the highlight of the walk is the spectacular section over the Millennium Walk Way - the 175 yards, cantilevered, elevated steel walkway over the rushing Goyt! OR is it the 28 minutes until the first pub stop?!!
