Public Transport based walk with John Ireland.
A winter walk from Chelford to Macclesfield making use of the Wayfarer ticket, travelling through the country to the south of Macclesfield via Redes Mere and Gawsworth. Whilst not involving much climbing, an early start makes this is a walk suitable for those who are new to walking and would like to try something a bit longer. Walk leader joining train at Stockport.
Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport
We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

08:45: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:04. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
Wayfarer £11 - Please note this ticket must be bought at a staffed station before the walk, it cannot be bought on the train.
09:04: Train departs for the walk start at Chelford.
09:40: Walk starts at Chelford.
Return from Macclesfield Station. 1623, 1642, 1715, 1742, 1815, 1842, 1915

At the conclusion of the walk, we will retire for refreshments in one of Macclesfield's fair hostelries.
