A long and very varied walk from Hope to Buxton, passing through long stretches of the Limestone Dales en route.

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

08:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 08:45. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Wayfarer ticket: purchase in advance from stations/travelshops. £11

08:45: Train departs for the walk start at Hope Rail Station.

09:40: Walk starts at Hope Rail Station.

Return from Buxton Train Station. X:29, aiming for 16:29

Waypoints: Hope; Abney Moor; Great Hucklow; Silly Dale; Cressbrook Dale; Miller's Dale; Chee Dale; Wye Dale; Buxton

Extra note:

This is a long walk with no easy bail out point and will need to be done at a brisk pace to finish in the light. Please be sure you can manage the distance at a reasonable pace before coming on the walk.

Bring a torch just in case we don't make it.

SOCIAL: On completion of our walk there will be an option to get off the train at Disley and meet up with the other walk for food and drinks.
