Along the Etherow valley

Public Transport based walk with David Bratley.

This is an easy walk along the varied route of the Etherow valley, hoping for a Winter Wonderland as snow and ice make this particularly lovely countryside.

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

09:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:48. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return ticket to Hadfield, off-peak day return £3.60

09:48: Train departs for the walk start at Godley Station.

10:15: Walk starts at Godley Station.

Return from Hadfield Station. 16:01, 16:31, 16:57, 17:22, 17:44, 17:59, 18:28, 18:43, xx:01, xx:31, latest 22:31.

Waypoints: Werneth low, Hyde farm, Back wood, BroadBottom, The Hague, Woolley Bridge, Hadfield.


This may be a cold walk so bring soup, Sloe Gin, mulled cider etc. plus warm clothing :) and gloves for snowball fights. Start time may change when the holiday week timetable is available.
