Public Transport based walk with Chris & Sarah Wareing.
NOTE: THIS WALK USES BUS TRANSPORT. Please ignore all mentions of train times or stations - these are just there because of the back system set up for the website. The transport is by bus (number 180), leaving from Oldham Street on Piccadilly Gardens at 9.50am on Saturday morning.
The walk leaders will meet the group outside the Clarence Pub, at the end of the 180 line (Bus Stop: Chew Valley Road: Clarence Hotel)
A circular walk around Saddleworth that isn't too strenuous, comprising much of a walk postponed from nearly two years ago! Starting from the Clarence Hotel, we walk across Greenfield, then up and around Wharmton Hill, with views over picturesque Uppermill and then down to the Brownhill Visitor Centre for lunch by the canal (tea shop, facilities). From there, we head up to Saddleworth Church and the microbrewery pub next door for a different kind of refreshment stop. From there it's a pull up the hill onto the moor edge to enjoy the view from the War Monument to the Fallen at Pots and Pans, just two weeks before the wreath laying service here. Then it's down hill to look over Dovestones reservoir from Binn Green, before heading through the woods alongside the reservoir to the final pub stop at the Clarence Inn.
This walk has been designed with lots of photo opportunities and the forecast is excellent so bring that camera!

Weather forecast is good and there are plenty of good views and autumnal woods, so a camera might be a good idea!
