Public Transport based walk with Sarah Peppiatt.
A last long walk for the year before the days get too short. This is a challenging walk over some of the most remote moorland near Hebden Bridge, including some very wet and rough tracks and an extensive pathless section on Jackson's Ridge.
Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

09:20: Walk starts at Hebden Bridge Station.
Return from Hebden Bridge Station. 18:28; 18:56; 19:06 etc
Waypoints: Colden Clough; Mount Pleasant; Lower Gorple Reservoir; Widdop Reservoir; Dovestones; Jackson's Ridge; Alcomden Stones; Walsh Dean Reservoirs; Hardcastle Crags; Hebden Bridge
This is a long walk over rough ground with no bail out points and needs to be done at a brisk pace if we're to finish in daylight. Please be sure you can complete the route at a reasonable pace before coming on this.
Full waterproofs etc essential: gaiters may be useful. Shorts not advised - hostile vegetation. Torch may be helpful if we miss our timing.
Please note: because the section over Jackson's Ridge is remote and pathless if the weather is bad or if it's been very wet in the previous few days we will do an alternative route round Hebden of same length/similar ascent staying on paths.
