Trip to the 'hangman' (East Didsbury-Woodford linear)

Direct Transport based walk with Gavin.

9.0 mi

0m

A lovely afternoon walk skirting urban areas to the countyside to the south of Manchester, and a fine pub, where you might once have come to a grizzly end.

This is a linear walk where we take the bus back to the beginning, so you could get to the start on one of the various 42 / 142 buses; allow a 40-minute travel time. The idea is to return on the last Stagecoach X57 bus at 17:15 so you can get the DayRider £3.90. But if you're travelling with any bus company, you'll need a System 1 Bus ticket £4.80. Though intended to be bus-based, there is a train that leaves Piccadilly at 12:47 arriving at East Didsbury at 12:58.
