Please notify the leader if you wish to attend this event: chocolatencheese@ymail.com

We are going to do the Tryfan, Glyders and Y Garn circuit with a long grade 1 scramble up the North Ridge of Tryfan and a short grade 2 exposed scramble up Sinister Gully and Bristly Ridge. Then it's across the top of the Glyders, down to the top of Devil's Kitchen and back up Y Garn before steeply heading down into Cwm Idwal and back to the cars. There is an option to get around Sinister Gully up onto the if you don't like the look of it!

Meet & Travel arrangements - Car Sharing

For car share walks, we meet at a convenient Manchester location and drive to the walk start using as few cars as possible. This keeps fuel costs and emissions down. Passengers please remember to contribute towards fuel costs at the end of the day.
Itinerary is below - click links for map and further information.

10:15: Walk starts at Idwal Cottage car park.

If you are driving, please make every effort to attend the Ferguson House, 11 Blackfriars Road, Salford meet point as some people may depend on a lift to get to the walk start. For further information, email walks@madwalkers.org.uk, especially if you intend to drive there directly.

Waypoints: Idwal Cottage, Tryfan North Ridge, Bwlch Tryfan, Bristly Ridge, Glyders, Y Garn, Idwal Cottage.

Notes:

Don't be misled by the short distance - the scrambling and all the ups and downs make this a hard day!

The scrambling on Tryfan's North Ridge is pleasant and mostly avoidable if necessary. The scrambling up Sinister Gully is steep and committed. If at all concerned, use the scree route up to the Glyders 100m East of the Gully.
