Public Transport based walk with Sarah Peppiatt.
The second half of the walk started on October 15th, following the Gritstone Trail through some of the best of the Cheshire countryside including Lyme Park, the White Nancy, and Tegg's Nose.
Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport
We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.
08:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 08:52. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
Wayfarer £10. (NB this can’t be bought on the train: buy in advance from the station or from any GMPTE travel shop)
08:52: Train departs for the walk start at Disley Station.
09:25: Walk starts at Disley Station.
Return from Macclesfield Station. Trains from Macclesfield every 20 minutes.
Waypoints: Cage Hill, Sponds Hill, White Nancy, Tegg's Nose, Langley, Macclesfield
Please note this is a long walk for the time of year and we will need to keep a reasonably brisk pace up. There are no easy bail out points.
