Public Transport based walk suitable for new walkers, with Gavin.
A simple linear evening walk north of the city. The short train journey takes us straight into the countryside, where a monument and trigpoint await. We get a great view over to Oldham on one side to Rochdale on the other. The middle view stretches to the horizon over Manchester to the Welsh hills. There's a pub stop here, possibly accompanied by witches. It's a place where one has to be careful with newspapers! From there, it's a short trip into Castleton, as we gradually return to the urban scene.
