A new evening walk for 2012 and a personal favourite, this walk captures some of the highlights of a full day walk while showcasing some of the stunning countryside around the Manchester area. Escape the clutch of suburbia - stroll along quiet country tracks, criss-cross the River Etherow, wander through woodland and pause to admire the stunning views of the Pennines beyond...

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

18:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 18:48. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Cheap Evening Return to Broadbottom £1.95

18:48: Train departs for the walk start at Broadbottom Station.

19:10: Walk starts at Broadbottom Station.

Return from Broadbottom Station. 21:46

Waypoints: Visitor Centre, Tom Wood, Woodseats Farm, Cown Edge Way and Hodgefold

Please ensure you have your walking boots/shoes for this walk. No toilets en route - please use the one on the train. If you wish to drive car parking is available at Broadbottom Station.
