Public Transport based walk with David Bratley.

A walk of many stones! This will be a day spent generally off-path on open moorland, with a possiblility of a little light bouldering for those interested.The only facilities in the middle of the walk are the hills and stones!

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

09:00: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:18. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Off-peak day return to Glossop - £3.90

09:18: Train departs for the walk start at Glossop Station.

09:49: Walk starts at Glossop Station.

Return from Glossop Station. xx.09 and xx.39, until 19.39 then xx.39.

Waypoints: Lower Shelf Stones, Higher Shelf Stones, Grinah Stones, Barrow Stones, White Stones, Near Bleaklow Stones, Bleaklow Stones, Wain Stones, Hern Stones and Dog Rock!

Extra:

Gaiters might be worth while.

Use the toilets on the train.
