An afternoon walk to the Buffet Bar

Public Transport based walk with Sarah Kendall.

Walk leader to meet at walk start.

Starting in Mossley this route makes its way towards Stalybridge via canals, moors and woodlands.

After following the canal out of Mossley, we will have a short climb up to the Tameside Trail, which we will follow into Carrbrook for lunch by the duckpond. We will then go up and over Slatepit Moor to reach Higher Swinemoor reservoir, before gradually descending down so that we can follow the canal to Stalybridge and its famous Buffet Bar.

The majority of the walk is on good tracks and paths, although there are a few steep (and probably muddy sections) so walking boots are essential.
