Public Transport based walk suitable for new walkers, with Angela Robinson.
This walk uses the tram to get to the walk start, and the train to return
Walk leader meeting at walk start
If you get the combined train and tram ticket, you also need to purchase a single train ticket (see below) because Entwistle is one stop outside the Greater Manchester rail area
A linear walk to the north of Manchester, getting the tram out to Bury to start. We'll follow the route of the East Lancs trainline and Irwell scuplture trail through a countrypark to Ramsbottom. We climb up to Peel Tower, where we will hopefully have some great views over the surrounding hills with Manchester city centre in the distance. Then we head through woodland and farmland, also passing the Krypton Factor assault course on the way.
We finish the walk by Wayoh reservoir. Entwistle train station is right next to the Strawbury Duck pub, for drinks and/or food if you choose, before getting the train home.
