Public Transport based walk with Sarah Peppiatt.
Trains having fouled up our first attempt at this walk I've put it back on again in November. A very varied walk across moor and woodland to the south of Bamford and Edale. We start the day with 3 significant climbs and descents as we cross over Offerton Moor and over Bretton Clough. A long loop through the rolling Derbyshire dales forms the middle section before a final long climb brings us over the Great Ridge & down to Edale for a well-earned drink.

As the title suggests there is a lot of ascent on this route & it's fairly long for the time of year. There are no bailouts so please be sure you can do the whole route at a reasonable pace so we don't finish in the dark. Full waterproofs, warm layers etc and enough food/fluid for the whole day will be needed.
Based on the recce you can expect a lot of mud, possibly a lot of overgrown vegetation and an exciting set of stiles in various states of collapse. Come equipped accordingly. Bring a torch as well in case we're running late.
If you want to drive suggest you park at Edale and join the train at 08:34. Single to Bamford will cost you £3.80.
