Win Hill the savage way and fun on the plateau

Public Transport based walk with Tom Scarborough.

17.7 mi

1067m

A challenging route involving several steep ascents (one of which is in/immediately next to a stream), with parts of the walk being directly across open access land rather than paths including a small grade 1 scramble of about 30m in length.

Based on the recce parts of the walk will be very muddy and there will be sections of peat bog to cross and bracken to battle.

We will be stopping at the Old Nags Head, Edale and the Old Hall Hotel, Hope to obtain beverages.

The intended pace will be quite brisk and the total route should take around 9 and a half hours. It is expected we will pass through Edale around 2pm, Hope around 6pm and finish in Bamford at about 7pm. So there is an option to bailout at either Edale or Hope, as these are on the same train line as Manchester Piccadilly/ Bamford.

Walk leader meeting at walk start.
