Direct Transport based walk with Andy Buckley.
Basing ourselves in Ambleside we will be doing two walks over two days around this area of the Lake District.
Todays walk sees us visiting the beautiful village of Coniston sat in the majestic shadow of the Old Man. We start our walk from the village and follow the valley for a short distance before we start the climb up to the fells with the first one that we visit being Wetherlam. By the time we arrive here the largest section of the ascent will have been complete with the remaining of the walk being mainly ridge walking with the odd section of ascent across to the other hill tops of Swirl How, Brim Fell and the highest part of the walk at the top of Old Man. From here it is a continuous and resaonably quick descent back to Coniston and the pub.
