Public Transport based walk with Siobhán Burke.
Please note due to Victoria being closed we will now meet at Piccadilly at 10.00 getting the 10.11 train to Stalybridge and then the 10:28 train from Stalybridge to Greenfield
**Walk leader will join the group at Mossley train station**
This circular walk takes in the heights around Greenfield with spectacular views and scenary, weather permitting. A walk of two halves, the first takes us quickly and sharply up to the War memorial at Pots and Pans before heading to the views over Dovestones reservoir at Alderman's Hill. We head down into the reservoir via Binn Green before a long flat-ish stroll to the base of a waterfall. We'll scramble up the waterfall before heading along the ridge and the view of the Trinnacle over Dovestones. We'll eventually descend back down into the reservoir before heading back into Greenfield.
Due to the scramble, this walk is not suitable for new/inexperienced walkers and walking boots are essential. The rocks will be wet and slippery and there is also a small stream to cross. You will also need to use your hands to climb over large boulders so may wish to bring gloves. Weather can also be cold and windy on the tops no matter what the weather forecasts, so bring appropriate clothing.
*We will be getting the 10:11 train from Piccadilly to Stalybridge where you will need to get off and then catch the 10:28 train to Greenfield*
