Manage an Autumn Walk on Stanage

Public Transport based walk with Jonny Franklin.

Starting at Hathersage; the walk starts off heading down the River Derwent before heading off through Coppice Wood and along tracks to Grindleford Station. The next part leads up Padley Gorge to Burbage Bridge where the acsent starts to Carl Wark Iron Age Hillfort and onto Higger Tor. The route then contours along to Stanage Edge before dropping down to Sheepwash Bank and North Lees Hall (connection to the Bronte's). The last part follows field paths and lanes to Hathersage Church and into Hathersage for a pub stop.

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

09:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:49. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

09:49: Train departs for the walk start at Hathersage Station.

10:50: Walk starts at Hathersage Station.

Return from Hathersage Station. 17:32, 18:33
