Public Transport based walk with Luke Burley.
This walk takes in 2 cracking edges within the Peak District, Stanage and Bamford.
We set off from Hathersage past wood and farmland before reaching the rocky ground of Fiddlers Elbow, shortly before climbing Cowper Stone and onto Stanage Edge.
After High Neb and further rocky ground we skirt past the Sheffield border and behind Moscar Lodge.
We then start to climb back uphill crossing through woodland and following the meandering dry stone walls towards Bamford Edge, with some wonderful views looking over Ladybower Reservoir and across to to Win Hill.
After admiring the views and rock formations on the edge we make our way into Bamford, through the village and to the Station/Pub.
If the weather has been kind we should have a dry day underfoot, but there will be plenty of water and mud if not so bring appropriate footwear/gaiters as required.
