Public Transport based walk with Andy Buckley.
Part two of my nod to the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens. This walk starts from Adlington railway station (LANCASHIRE) and head towards Rivington Reservoir where we then follow the west bank of Lower Rivington Reservoir down to the folly called Liverpool Castle before heading into Rivington Country Park and towards the hall, as we get to the wall of the hall we head of into the terraced gardens of Rivington before and the “Pigeon House” tower which overlooks the gardens before the final climb up to Rivington Pike, were on a clear day you can see The Lakes and Snowdonia!! We now start our descent towards Blackrod but not before calling into a couple of public houses in Horwich about a mile from the station at Blackrod.
